Ted Under the Bed

For our Ted on his 2nd Birthday

Ted under the bed was scared half to death

whenever he heard a human breath

Because children screamed whenever they saw

sliding from under their bed, Ted’s hairy paw

The saddened monster hid and cowed

not knowing why they screamed so loud.

But one small child – a bit scared too

got up one night to go the loo

He spied the foot that was not his

but brown and furry with black toed frizz

Curiosity… made him very brave

he PEEKED into the monster cave!

‘Hello, I’m Ted, who are you?’

‘Hello, I’m a monster and I’m called Ted too.’
